For ages, people have assumed that eating vegetables can help them lose weight. We can't blame them on this because some vegetables can certainly help you with weight loss and today, we've listed our top vegetables for weight loss for both men and women.

Spinach is rich in protein (just one cup of the steamed variety has equivalent protein to a medium hard-boiled egg) and as we know protein aids post-pump muscle recovery and growth. Also, the more muscle mass you have, the more calories you burn at rest! The leafy green Spinach is also rich in thylakoids, which significantly reduces craving and promotes weight loss.

Along with warding off different types of cancers, Broccoli can also help you shed those extra inches along your belly. According to experts, Broccoli contains a phytonutrient called sulforaphane that increase testosterone and fights off body fat storage. It’s rich in vitamin C which can lower levels of cortisol during stressful situations, helping those abs take center stage by reducing the fat in your middle section.

Many of us keep potatoes in the fridge and eat them cold and when you do this, their digestible starches turn into resistant starches through a process called retrogradation which promotes fat oxidation and reduces abdominal fat. If you are someone who doesn't like eating those cold potatoes, you can go ahead and make a potato salad and the effect will be similar.

Mild Peppers have a metabolism-boosting compound, dihydrocapsiate, and their high vitamin-C content, sweet red and green peppers can help you lose weight. A cup of Mild Peppers serves up to three times the day’s recommended vitamin C which  is a nutrient that counteracts stress hormones which trigger fat storage around the midsection and help you lose weight.

Onions are rich in quercetin, which increases blood flow and activates a protein in the body that helps regulate glucose levels, torches stored fat and keeps new fat cells from forming. Onions are important for your cardiovascular health, an important area of wellness for all and especially those who hit the gym hard to accelerate their weight-loss efforts. They can help lower cholesterol, ward off hardening of the arteries and help maintain healthy blood-pressure levels. Plus, Onions are super low-cal and easy to throw into just about anything, from burgers to pastas, salads to soups to almost everything.
